10-Undecynoic acid is a natural fungicide. It is reported as highly selective irreversible inhibitor of hepatic ?- and ?-1-lauric acid hydroxylases. Cu(II)/sodium L-ascorbate catalyzed microwave assisted surface click reactions were investigated with 10-Undecynoic acid as the model compound. 10-Undecynoic acid has been employed as a biochemical probe in an assay for the microsomal hydroxylation of lauric acid (LA), based on HPLC with flow-through radiochemical detection.
