Application Of 11-Tetradecyn-1-ol
11-Tetradecyn-1-ol is the precursor to the sex pheromones, (E)-11-tetradecen-1-ol and (E)-11-tetradecenal, of the eastern spruce budworm, choristoneura fumiferana. Also, (Z)-11-tetradecenyl acetate ((Z)-11-TDOL, Z-11-TDOL), the major sex pheromone of Baldcypress Leafroller and Blique-banded leafroller (Choristoneura rosaceana) is produced from 11-tetradecyn-1-ol.
