Application Of 2-Octadecyn-1-ol

2-Octadecyn-1-ol is the precursor to the sex pheromone, (E)-2-Octadecenal, of Tineola bisselliella (Webbing clothes moth) and Tinea pellionella (Casemaking clothes moth). Also, to access (E)-2-Octadecen-1-yl acetate, the pheromone of Zeuzera pyrina (Leopard moth), 2-octadecyn-1-ol serves as the precursor.
