Application Of 5-DECYN-1-ol
5-Decyn-1-ol allow access to multi-substituted cyclopropanes. The preparation of (E) or (Z)-dec-5-en-1-ol, a fragrance with a fatty rose tone, utilizes 5-decyn-1-ol as the precursor. Also, the peach twig borer pheromone (E)-5-decen-1-yl acetate is synthesized from 5-decyn-1-ol. It is moreover utilized in manufacture of specialty chemicals used in electroplating industry.
